Starry Campion grows in average, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soil with full sun to partly shady. It prefers dryish, sandy, or clay soils. For this plant to grow, it is essential that the soil has excellent drainage. Starry Campion grows 2-3 feet tall and has white flowers with 5 fringed petals and bell-shaped calyxes in loose terminal spikes that appear in early summer (June-September). Bladder Campion looks similar to Starry Campion, but its petals are notched, not fringed.
