Storm damage clean-up and tree trimming requires daytime closure of the Blue Ridge Parkway from Milepost 405 near Highway 151 to Milepost 408 near Mt. Pisgah Inn on June 9th and 10th.
This section will close from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily; however, unforeseen circumstances could necessitate additional daily closures (8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) from June 14–18.
Contractors will be conducting additional debris removal and storm clean-up from Milepost 393 at NC Route 191 to Milepost 411 at Wagon Road Gap; however, the road will remain open with traffic flagging operations and brief delays.
The section of the Parkway between Milepost 399 at Bad Fork Valley Overlook and Milepost 405 near Highway 151 remains closed for potential slide repair with an anticipated early July opening.
To detour, southbound traffic from the Asheville area should take NC Route 191, NC Route 280, and US Route 276 to the Parkway. For northbound traffic near the Mt. Pisgah area, motorist should take US Route 276, NC Route 280, and NC Route 191 to the Parkway.
Parkway management is appreciative of the public’s cooperation as severely storm ravaged areas of the roadway are made safe for travel and enjoyment.
