The National Park Service (NPS) has issued two prospectuses for concessions business opportunities along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The first is for offers for a 10-year concession contract to provide lodging, food and beverage, retail and other services at Peaks of Otter, Rocky Knob, and Doughton Park within the Blue Ridge Parkway. The second is for offers to provide craft sales and limited food and beverage services at the Folk Art Center within the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The Peaks of Otter, near Bedford, Virginia, includes a three building, 63-room lodge overlooking Abbott Lake and Sharp Top Mountain, a restaurant, lounge and gift shop, a country store and a shuttle bus to the top of Sharp Top Mountain.
Rocky Knob Cabins consist of seven rustic cabins.
The Bluffs Lodge and Coffee Shop at Doughton Park, near Laurel Springs, North Carolina, includes a 24-room lodge, restaurant, and gift shop.

Please include a physical address (no post office box) and telephone number. You may also pick up a printed copy at the Superintendent’s Office at Blue Ridge Parkway Headquarters for $45.00 (checks only). No telephone requests for the prospectuses will be honored.

Please submit any questions regarding the Folk Art Center prospectus to Mark Morgan, in writing, by Thursday, June 7, 2012, and any questions regarding the Peaks of Otter/Rocky Knob/Bluffs Lodge prospectus in writing by Thursday, June 14, 2012.

All offers must be received by the NPS no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 27, 2012, in order to be considered for an award of a concession contract.
