(Asheville, NC) During the next three months, contractors will be performing video inspection and cleaning services for all Blue Ridge Parkway sewer collection systems, including those at campgrounds, visitor centers, maintenance areas, offices, etc.
Sewage collection pipes will be cleaned using water jetting and vacuuming pumps that will generate intermittent loud noise. The contractor intends to minimize impacts to visitors; therefore, work will be performed between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The contractor, Applied Management Engineering, Inc., from Virginia Beach, Virginia, will perform the inspection and cleaning services along the entire length of the Parkway, starting with facilities at Mount Pisgah at Milepost 408 on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, working north and finishing at Humpback Rocks Visitor Center at Milepost 8.
