Most early settlers to the mountains surrounding the Blue Ridge Parkway lived in log cabins built from the trees they would clear from their building site. In order to engage in the experience of the Southern Appalachian Mountain culture, a lot of parkway visitors choose to purchase cabin rentals as they plan their visits.
Cabins are usually available 365 days a year and rented on a daily, weekly, or monthly arrangement depending on the facility. Rocky Knob Cabins are located on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Meadows of Dan area. Other individuals and agencies offer cabin rentals very close to the Parkway, but not actually on National Park Service land.
