The Boone Fork Parking area is a primary access point to the Tanawha Trail at the foot of Grandfather Mountain. The Tanawha Trail intersects the Daniel Boone Scout Trail (0.7mi) and the Grandfather Trail (0.5mi) where hiking permits are required. For your safety and the protection of the fragile mountain side, stay on the established trail. Immediately past this parking area is a bridge that crosses the Boone Fork Creek. This creek is carries some of the clearest and purest waters as it originates from the top of Grandfather Mountain.
