Overlook Description
There is a gorgeous view down into the valley below from the overlook. Back Creek travels throughout the valley and is the headwaters of the Roanoke River. A man named Squire Elijah Poage operated his saw and grist mill using the water from Back Creek. He was well known in the community and was appointed Justice of the Peace. Shortly after his death the mill shut down.
