Overlook Description
Roanoke River Gorge lies before you from this overlook. A path from the overlook takes you to a balcony view of the river. The river at one time had three names. The upper region was known as Goose Creek, while the middle part was known as the Staunton. Roanoke formerly only applied to the section through North Carolina leading to the Atlantic at Albemarle Sound.
