(Asheville, NC) The Blue Ridge Parkway in cooperation with the US Forest Office will implement a limited closure of the Mt. Pisgah trail located at Mile Post 407.6.
The television broadcasting tower located at the top of Mt. Pisgah is scheduled to undergo upgrading of select antennas, which will require closure of the top of the mountain to visitor access while the rehabilitation activities are being conducted.
The viewing platform will be closed as well as the immediate area around the TV tower. The closure will occur on Wednesday, October 6th . The trail will reopen on October 7th.
The trailhead and parking area will remain open, as will the bottom half of the trail. Hikers will be able to walk within a quarter mile of the top, but will not be allowed to progress any farther.
The Blue Ridge Parkway management regrets the inconvenience this closure may cause Parkway visitors.
