National D-Day Memorial - Anniversary of D-Day

OVERLORD ECHOS-65th Commemoration of D-Day. Pay tribute to the Allied soldiers, sailors, and airmen who participated in that fateful invasion in Normandy sixty-five years ago. The Memorial will host a variety of anniversary events June 4-7, 2009. Our aniversary ceremony on June 6th will include special music and speakers and the day will end with over 4000 luminaries illiminating the 9-acre Memorial in honor of the 4400 Allied servicemen killed in action on D-Day. Free admission from 10am to noon on June 6, 2009. A Field Chapel Service will be held Sunday June 7th. Tours will be provided each day. Location Information Milepost: 85
