April 22 is Earth Day, and to celebrate the annual eco-holiday Blue Ridge Outdoors is hosting a benefit concert featuring the Emmitt Nershi Band. Bill Nershi (guitar) and Drew Emmitt (mandolin) have played in front of hundreds of thousands of fans with their respective bands the String Cheese Incident and Leftover Salmon, but recently the duo has formed a new stripped down bluegrass project with help from Andy Thorn on banjo and Tyler Grant on bass.
Proceeds from the $20 ticket will be donated to the Piedmont Environmental Council, a 35-year-old non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the Piedmont's rural economy, natural resources, history, and beauty.
