Wildflowers of the Blue Ridge Parkway - Dodder

General Description

The Dodder, or Love Vine, is an annual vine plant that flowers between summer and fall. It has many clusters of tiny white, lobed, bell-shaped flowers and has an orange to yellow yarn-like stems. It twines around stems of surrounding plants (but not to the leaves or roots). It is commonly found in fields, open woods, and thickets. As with many other vines, this plant is very weedy and may be quite difficult to control.
