Land slide caused by hurricane Frances

Comment: This is an eight mile Parkway section that is closed due to a land slide during hurricane Frances. Excessive flooding in the area caused the slide. A temporary visitor center is set up for Parkway visitors on US 221. Detour information will be provided along with access roads to the NC Minerals Visitor Center, Little Switzerland community and Crabtree Meadow Recreation Area.
