Comment: This is the beginning of an eight mile Parkway section that is closed due to a land slide during hurricane Frances. Excessive flooding in the area caused the slide. A temporary visitor center is scheduled to open on October 7th off this access point on US 221. Detour information will be provided along with access roads to the NC Minerals Visitor Center, Little Switzerland community and Crabtree Meadow Recreation Area.
