Spruce Pine Pow Wow
Sep 11, 2009 - Sep 13, 2009
An educational Native American gathering called a Pow Wow with dancing, drumming, singing, flint knappers, tee pees, story tellers, flute and music performances, dance demonstrations, food and handmade craft vendors. Come early, bring your lawn chairs and stay all day. Grand Entry is at 7 on Friday, 1 and 7 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday. Come and see the Native Americans dressed in their finest and best show you their dance styles. Listen to the drums playing old songs and listen to the singers singing in the Native American language. All veterans are asked to dance with us at Grand Entry and everyone is encouraged to dance when they call an “intertribal” dance. This means YOU! So come and enjoy a day with the Native American People and you might actually have fun learning something about some of your ancestors.
