This gruelling trail run was started in 1985 by a group of runners who believe that running, particularly trail running, is about running.
Participants will begin this physical journey at Bent Creek near Asheville, NC. The Shut-In Ridge Trail continues for 17.8 miles, and is comprised of some of the toughest terrain in the country, climbing over 3,000 feet along the ridgeline of the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Mt. Pisgah parking lot.
