SEASONAL. Rated as #1 “Vacation with a Splash” by National Geographic Explorer and Good Morning America, Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) offers rafting for everyone—from the gentle-hearted to the adrenaline junkies. The Southeast’s most popular river, the Nantahala provides for an exciting half-day introduction to whitewater rafting. Winding eight miles through a lush gorge, the clear waters of the Nantahala offer plenty of practice on easy Class II rapids before culminating in the exciting Class III Nantahala Falls. Allow 2-3 hours on the water, and 3-4 hours total.
The Go Blue Ridge Card includes the guide-assisted option (guide in every third raft) which combines the thrill of captaining your own raft with the security of a skilled guide nearby. Since 1972, veteran leaders, professional guides and personal attention have made the difference for guests.
The NOC provides transportation from their center to the launch and shower facilities and changing rooms for when you get off the river. Expand your time at NOC by trying some of their other activities which include kayaking, biking, and fly fishing.
Note: Reservations are required. Blackout dates/no rafting included are Saturdays in July–August. Upgrade available to have a guide in each raft for an additional $7 paid for at time of reservation. Minimum age requirement is 7 years old or 60 lbs. Go Blue Ridge Card must be valid on day you take the rafting trip.
Go Blue Ridge Card is valid for your choice of one NOC raft trip or one Smoky Mountain Jet Boat Ride per day.
