Rated as “#1 Vacation with a Splash” by Good Morning America and “One of the world’s best outfitters” by National Geographic Explorer, Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) offers gentle to adrenaline packed rafting on seven southeastern rivers.
The French Broad holds the distinction as the third oldest river in the world, trailing only the New in West Virginia and North Carolina and the Nile in Africa. The French Broad winds through the mountains of Pisgah National Forest just a short 30 minute drive from Asheville, North Carolina. This free-flowing river is ideal for young teens and families, with moderate Class II and III rapids.
The Go Blue Ridge Card includes the guide-assisted option (guide in every third raft) which combines the thrill of captaining your own raft with the security of a skilled guide nearby. Since 1972, veteran leaders, professional guides and personal attention have made the difference for guests.
Note: Reservations are required. Go Blue Ridge Card allows you admission to the Half-Day Rafting trip that departs in the afternoon.
* For an $8 upgrade fee, Go Blue Ridge Card holders may choose the French Broad Half-Day Deluxe morning trip which includes a riverside lunch.
