The genesis of wine tradition has arrived in the High Country of North Carolina. The Banner Elk Winery at the Blueberry Farm is the first commercial winery built in Avery and Watauga counties. The winery processes locally grown grapes into excellent wines reflecting the unique characteristics of fruit grown in the Appalachian Mountains.
The Banner Elk Winery is situated on a twenty-five year old, twenty acre farm and is located only a mile and a half north of Banner Elk. Some of the award-winning wines are Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Seyval Blanc, High Country Rosé, Banner Elk Red, Banner Elk White, Vino Francesco and Blueberry Wine. They also produce ice wine when conditions permit.
Note: While all ages are welcome, you must be 21 years of age to taste wine. Every tasting includes a complimentary wine guide.
