(Asheville, NC) The Blue Ridge Parkway, in cooperation with the US Forest Service Office, is extending a limited closure of the Mt. Pisgah trail located at Milepost 407.6.
The television broadcasting tower located at the top of Mt. Pisgah is undergoing upgrading of select antennas, requiring closure of the top of the mountain to visitor access, while the rehabilitation activities are being conducted.
The viewing platform will be closed as well as the immediate area around the TV tower. The closure occurred on Wednesday, October 6th and will reopen on Saturday, October 9th.
The trailhead and parking area will remain open, as will the bottom half of the trail. Hikers will be able to walk within a quarter mile of the top but will not be allowed to progress any farther.
