When the National Park Service was born in 1916, it was given two goals: first to protect the parks and second to provide ways for visitors to enjoy the parks.
Today on the Blue Ridge Parkway it is possible to hike, camp, motorcycle, rock climb, fish for trout, bicycle… almost any activity that does not damage the park or endanger other visitors.
Before heading out for a day of recreation, please be sure to review park regulations. Every visitor has an impact and we want your visit to be good for both you and the park.
